The Britax Grow With You ClickTight Harness-2-Booster car seat is just what it sounds like a seat that starts out with a harness mode (with 2 recline positions) and can be changed into a booster in the future when your child is mature enough to use that mode. With a harness height of 20″ at the tallest setting, this is the highest harness height available today. This makes it a great option for kids with tall torsos. It’s hard to find a seat that has a seat belt installation easier than the ones that feature Britax’s ClickTight technology like the Britax Grow With You ClickTight does. The ClickTight panel is located behind the padding. After opening it up, all you have to do is thread the vehicle seat belt through the belt path, buckle it in, gently remove any obvious slack, and close the ClickTight panel. Note that the ClickTight panel is designed to be used with the vehicle seatbelt. Don’t even bother with a lower anchor installation; a seatbelt is the way to go for this seat!

This seat has a seat belt lock-off. So it can be a good option in vehicles older than 1996 that don’t have locking seat belts or need to be installed in international vehicles.

Since the Britax Grow With You ClickTight is 19.5″ wide, it’s not a good option for caregivers who are looking to fit 3 across in their vehicle. You can find narrower options here that will work better for that situation.

The top tether should always be used when a child is forward-facing. Britax’s top tethers are v-shaped instead of the typical top tether design. Generally this kind of top tether will go around both sides of the vehicle’s headrest.
✈️ Airplane Use
The Britax Grow With You Clicktight is an arcraft approved car seat in harness mode. Like all booster car seats, the booster mode of this seat does not have aircraft approval. See the manual for installation on a plane as it differs from installation in the vehicle. But 24.6 pounds, it is one of the heaviest options available. The Britax Grow With You ClickTight is a good option for caregivers who are looking for a forward-facing only car seat as long as their vehicle has removable headrests and there is no need to fit 3 across in the vehicle. It’s easy to install, making it a great option for caregivers who may choose to move the seat to other vehicles or for caregivers who typically have trouble installing car seats.

A note about crash-tests
How does the Britax Grow With You ClickTight perform in crash tests?
Well, that’s a great question. We know it passes the strict federally required testing for all car seats sold in Canada. You can find that data here.
There are a few third-party websites that claim to offer objective crash test data that compares car seats. But we at Safe in the Seat ignore that data for a few big reasons. First of all, third-party car seat crash tests don’t actually give us meaningful data! Car seat manufacturers crash-test their products hundreds, even upwards of a thousand times. They crash test the finished product in every single installation configuration using every applicable-sized crash test dummy, not to mention a whole lot of testing at each stage of the development process too. So one or two crash tests completed by another organization just can’t give the same level of information! One or two crash tests aren’t going to represent the overall average performance of any car seat across its lifespan.
