I’m Michelle.
As a first-time parent, I found very little support around one critically important aspect: car seats.
When I couldn’t find a go-to resource to help me navigate this complex part of my child’s safety, I took matters into my own hands. I became the expert I needed and founded Safe in the Seat in 2018.
I’m passionate about helping parents feel confident that they’re doing all they can to keep their kids safe in the seat. As a Nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety Expert, I have spent years consulting with parents just like you --parents who simply need guidance or reassurance when it comes to traveling safely with their kids.

I’m a foster mother to infant twins and a nurse. At work and at home, I care for babies with complex medical needs. I’m also a car seat expert, so my responsibility for the Safe in the Seat team is consultations. I work with families one-on-one to answer specific questions about their vehicles, their seats, and – of course – their precious little ones. I’m available to connect with families and answer their questions at any stage – infant, forward-facing, booster – you name it.It’s a privilege to educate parents on proper car seat use and ensure that every child is safe in their seat.

I used to be very anxious about driving with my daughter. Was her harness tight enough? Was the seat installed correctly? I always worried if she was safe. Many years ago, a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician gave a presentation at my Mommy & Me group and checked all of our seats. The experience inspired me to get certified so that I could put other anxious parents at ease too.
Now, in addition to consulting for Safe in the Seat, I am one of the few active techs here in north Alabama. I have taken additional training on transporting individuals with special needs and have completed the IOSH Child Seat Safety Awareness Course (UK-based).
I enjoy helping people keep their kids safe – you never know when you could be saving a child’s life.
