Our recommendation: From 5 years until it's outgrown (average 10-12 years of age)
A 2-in-1 booster that has a high back and a backless mode
From 5+, but the child must be mature enough to sit properly at all times
Stand Out Features of this Car Seat
ClearTex fabric option is flame-retardant free
There are a few different models of the Chicco KidFit. If you are looking for a booster that has flame-retardant-free fabric, check out the ClearTex model.
Seat is good for you if
It's lightweight.
If you will move this booster to other vehicles on a regular basis, you will find that is quite easy since it is only 10 pounds!
Use caution if
You have a vehicle with non-removable headrests.
If your vehicle's headrests are non-removable and they tilt forward, there is a good chance this booster will not work in your vehicle in the high back booster mode.
You need to fit car seats 3 across in your vehicle.
This booster is 19" wide, so if you need to fit three across in your vehicle we would recommend looking at narrower options.
Quirks to be aware of
Unusual rule
When using this seat in the high back booster mode, even when the lower anchors are in use, you must secure the booster with the lap and shoulder belt when the child is not riding with you. This rule does not apply to the backless booster mode. The lower anchors are sufficient to keep it from becoming a projectile when in the backless mode.
Child Fit Information
We had an almost 10 year old with us. She was 57 pounds and 53." This booster gave her a great seat belt fit.

SITS Bottom Line
The Chicco KidFit booster offers several models, including the ClearTex version with flame-retardant-free fabric. It features premium lower anchors for easy installation and weighs only 10 pounds, making it easy to move between vehicles. However, it may not fit well in vehicles with non-removable, forward-tilting headrests in high-back mode and may not be ideal for three-across setups due to its 19-inch width. In high-back mode, the booster must be secured with the seat belt when not in use, even if the lower anchors are attached.
