Stand Out Features of this Car Seat
Swivels
This seat swivels to the side for ease of putting baby into or taking baby out of the car seat.
Anti-rebound bar
The base of the Cybex Aton G Swivel has an anti-rebound bar (ARB), an added safety feature that can reduce the secondary movement of the car seat, called rebound, during a crash. When a crash occurs, the car seat will move forward, towards the front of the vehicle, and rotate downward. And as we all know from high school physics, every action has an equal and opposite reaction — so after that initial movement, the car seat will rebound, or “bounce back” towards the backrest of the vehicle seat. The ARB minimizes this bounce-back effect, helping limit the car seat movement and your child inside it! ARBs may also limit the side-to-side rotation of the car seat in a side-impact collision. Overall, they’re a great feature to have on a rear-facing car seat!
European baseless routing
This seat can be installed baseless with European or American/Standard belt routing. You can find a video showing both of those methods here. The European routing method is preferred!
Seat is good for you if
You want a swivel car seat.
The swivel function is nice for parents who sometimes leave the infant seat in the vehicle. You can turn the seat towards you, harness the baby, and swivel them back into place. If you are someone who takes the infant seat out every time, this function may not be as useful to you.
You want a seat that is easy to install.
The base of the Cybex Aton G Swivel features Cybex's SafeLock Belt Tensioner for a secure installation. Whether you prefer using seat belts or lower anchors, this system makes installation easy and stress-free. The easy-glide recline function allows for smooth adjustments to the recline angle after installation, ensuring your baby is positioned safely and comfortably.
Use caution if
You need to fit 3 across.
At only 17.5", this seat is narrow enough to fit in many 3 across configurations. However, you will not be able to use the swivel function as it will not work with seats next to it.
You are expecting a small or premature baby.
This seat will fit an average-sized newborn well. But the harness may be above the shoulders of a smaller baby. We would recommend choosing a different seat if you are expecting a small baby.
You want a lightweight car seat.
This is not a lightweight infant seat. It weighs 9 pounds and it feels quite heavy even with a newborn in it.
Quirks to be aware of
Child Fit Information
Check out our model for proper fit. She is 3 months old, almost 12 pounds, and 24". She has had this seat since she was 8 weeks old. She fit well at that time too! She finds this seat to be very comfortable and often falls asleep while riding in the car.
Installation Information
Airplane Use
The Cybex Aton G Swivel is FAA approved and it is a good option for air travel. If traveling internationally, you will need a locking clip. Contact the car seat manufacturer for a free locking clip. We have a video here of how to use a locking clip. For help with all things airplane travel and car seats, check out our Wheels Up Course and private Facebook group.

SITS Bottom Line
The Cybex Aton G Swivel infant car seat is a nice addition to the market. It's easy to install and the swivel function will be appealing to some parents. It's not the smallest infant seat front-to-back, but it's certainly not the largest either. It fits average-sized newborns well and the addition of the anti-rebound bar is a nice feature as well.
